“It was regrettable. It was kind of an exchange with Cowboys supporters out in front of us,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “There was a large group of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, our fans. The entire stadium was brimming with enthusiasm for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the gesture was entirely unintentional, occurring amid the elation following the team’s last score. “I just put up the incorrect digit,” he remarked. “It was inadvertently done. I’m not kidding. Should you call it unplanned, you can. But it got corrected pretty quick.”
